"Sugarbloom Ridge" is part of a series of nine tufted artworks that are a personal exploration of imagination and the quiet joy of seeing the world through a child’s eyes. Inspired by my love of pattern, fabric, and storytelling, each piece grows intuitively, layer by layer, into a small imagined landscape, shaped by fragments of places, feelings, and stories carried over time.

Created with mixed fibres on tufting cloth, the works combine playful colour, tactile texture, and intricate hand-built surfaces to reflect the way memories overlap and transform. Organic shapes, winding pathways, and symbolic forms echo dreamlike gardens, hidden shelters, and moments of wonder found in everyday life. Through the process of making, I reconnect with the freedom of childhood imagination, where ordinary places become magical and every detail holds the possibility of a story.

Each work invites a personal interpretation, offering space to pause, reflect, and wander through its layered surface. Together, the collection speaks to nostalgia, curiosity, and the enduring desire to hold onto a sense of wonder as we move through the world.
